Transgender activists in Russia are making their contribution to the international LGBT movement. In this video, GayRussia activist Anna Komarova talks about some of the ground-breaking activities taking place in his country, including the first-ever in-person, public statement in favor of Transgender rights -- one block away from the Kremlin before a forest of national and international media.
Anna has been involved in Moscow Pride from its start in 2006, and has been arrested by Russian riot police and beaten by neofascists for doing so. Anna is interviewed by Andy Thayer of the Gay Liberation Network (Chicago), who was also a participant in the past three Pride demonstrations held in Moscow (and arrested twice as a result).
