Tell President Obama: State your support for full marriage equality

Tell President Obama: State your support for full marriage equality

Since the moment he took office, President Obama has been a staunch ally of LGBT Americans and everyone who believes in equality for all – and just recently, said his position on full marriage equality is "evolving."
Let's help him over the finish line. Send your message now and tell President Obama to publicly and vocally support marriage equality for all Americans.

Your Message

State your support for full marriage equality
Dear Mr. President
You have done more for the nation's LGBT community than any other in history. From hate crimes protections to the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," to hospital visitation rules, you've proven yourself to be a strong advocate for equality.

That's why I'm hoping you will publicly and vocally support marriage equality for all Americans, starting today.

Earlier today, the Department of Justice filed a brief appealing two federal court rulings that found the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional. I know your administration believes that it has a duty to defend the laws that are on the books and that many others disagree. At the very least, the Justice Department can and should acknowledge that the law is unconstitutional.

DOMA is discriminatory and unjust. LGBT families deserve the recognition and respect of their government.

You have said your position on marriage is "constantly evolving." Please take this opportunity to go one step further, and state your support for full, equal marriage.
