Servicemembers United Announces 'The Campaign for Military Partners'.

Welcome to MilitaryPartners.org, the new home for Servicemembers United’s ‘Campaign for Military Partners.’ This initiative was launched to reach out to, recognize, connect, and support the partners of active duty gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender military personnel.

The partners of LGBT troops in the U.S. military are often the most unrecognized and underappreciated group associated with the military, veteran, and defense community. These silent heroes endure many of the same hardships as their active duty partners, yet they get access to few, if any, of the perks, resources, and benefits enjoyed by heterosexual spouses, girlfriends, and boyfriends. In following their active duty other-halves from duty station to duty station, LGBT partners often experience unique forms of stress and isolation, particularly while their partners are on deployment.

The Military Partners Advisory Group
Comprised of a group of civilian partners of LGBT military personnel, Servicemembers United’s Military Partners Advisory Group was established to help enlighten us as to the unique needs and struggles of military partners, to advise us on how best to serve those needs, and to help lead the Campaign for Military Partners. Because civilian partners are often closely identified with their closeted active duty partners, the members of the Military Partners Advisory Group remain confidential. When partner names do appear on MilitaryPartners.org (e.g., blog posts), it is safe to assume that those names are pseudonyms.
