Model Lea T, who posed in a passionate lip kiss with Kate Moss this month, did her first runway walk at Sao Paolo's Fashion Week. Lea T modeled designer Alexandre Herchcovitch's 2011-2012 Fall/Winter collection.
Lea T, a native Brazilian was born Leandro Cerezo in Bela Horizonte Brazil in 1981. Lea began as a male model, but found successful bookings as a female. Lea is one of approximately two transgender supermodels who have succesfully infiltrated high fashion. Watch Lea T's runway walk in Sao Paolo here.
In an interview with a British tabloid, Lea said casting directors would confuse her with male models. Lea T. wore big afros that she said are similar to Michael Jackson's when he sang with the Jackson 5.
Lea T's cover pose with supermodel Kate Moss on the cover of this month's LOVE magazine, a publication dedicated to fashion and fame, is described as hard core.
Moss and Lea pose with a kiss, while Moss is dressed as a male, and Lea's look is feminine.
Until she cat walked for Herchcovitch's collection, Lea T. was long affiliated with Givenchy. Italian designer Riccardo Tisci , creative director for Givenchy wojmenswear, employed Lea as his personal assistant and used her as his fit model.
Tisci's autum/winter 2010 collection's theme was androgyny and featured Lea. Lea underwent hormone replacement surgery and the runway show in Brazil is Lea's first post-op catwalk.
